Tony Buckingham
Tony BuckinghamManaging Director

Tony has been at the helm of Buckingham Insurance as Managing Director since 1989. During that time he has overseen significant growth within the Commercial / Business division of the business and has extensive knowledge of the SME sector in particular.

Tony remains ‘hands on’ and is a firm believer in personal service – he’s often found chatting to his customers in reception when they call into the Clowne office!

Simon Jacques
Simon JacquesDirector

Simon became a Director at Buckingham Insurance back in 1996. Alongside his general responsibilities in contributing to the running of the business, he still spends much of his time with clients. To this end, Simon is often out on the road visiting businesses, or else to be found in the Ripley office.

As a Director of the Buckingham responsible for HR, Andrea is rightly proud of the team. “We’ve got a close knit bunch, and I like to think that it reflects positively on the business that so many of us have been with the business for many years.”
Lee Moody
Lee MoodyOffice Manager

Like many of the team, Lee’s worked at Buckingham Insurance for over a decade. As well as dealing with day to day issues, Lee often deals with commercial insurance and some of the more complex policies.

Lee recognises that the amount of regulation around insurance products can make them somewhat confusing to the end customer – and see’s Buckingham’s key strength is being able to take that strain up on behalf of clients, ensuring they get the cover that they need.

Daniel Eastwood
Daniel EastwoodInsurance Advisor

Daniel has worked in the business for more than four years, rapidly gaining industry experience and knowledge.

Daniel deals with the whole range of clients, but spends a lot of his time with personal motor enquiries and renewals. It’s here that he recognises that while the businesses biggest competition comes from on-line sellers, its also the businesses biggest opportunity to stand out though a genuinely personalised service approach.

Jamie Houghton
Jamie HoughtonInsurance Schemes Manager

Jamie has been with the business since 2013, but he’s not new to the area – or the insurance industry as a whole.

Jamie’s role is in the management of Buckingham’s significant – and growing – book of social and sports club clients. its a sector he knows well, having advised clubs up and down the country on their insurance needs for over 15 years.

A positive thinker, Jamie reckons there’s no such thing as a bad day, “only ones you should learn from!”

Kerry works with clients new and old, personal and commercial, advising them on new policies as well as helping them with adjustments and renewals. Kerry has extensive knowledge of the personal lines business having worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years.

Rachel deals with customer enquiries everyday. She has a wealth of knowledge and always connects to the customers well.

Sally holds the title of longest serving employee having worked in the business for over 25 years! Sally’s specialist area is accounts and finance management.

Alan CheethamOffice Manager

Alan is a rarity in the Buckingham Insurance office – he lives more than 5 miles from the office! In fact, Alan holds the current office commute record at 22 miles – one for every year that he’s worked for the business.

During that time, he’s seen the way that the insurance industry works change significantly, particularly thanks to email and the internet speeding every aspect of the process up. While a fan of technology, he admits he enjoys it when a client needs a vintage car or something unusual insuring.

Clare Swift
Clare SwiftInsurance Advisor

Clare has been ‘front of house’ at Buckingham Insurance’s Ripley office since the turn of the millennium, and recognises that for many local customers, being able to pop in and speak with someone face to face is a significant bonus. “We’re a local business, and it’s clear that knowing they can call in and speak to a real person if they’ve got a problem or want to discuss something, means a lot to people.”

Michael looks after clients day to day needs, working out of the Ripley office. While he admits most enquiries are straightforward, he enjoys the challenge when something unusual comes along – like the motorbike ice cream van he found cover for a little while ago! “The internet was struggling to put that one into a neat little tick box, I expect, and its a great example of when coming to a broker can make all the difference.”
